Sleep Apnea As Dangerous As Snoring

Sleeping is an activity that we all should enjoy. Unfortunately, it doesn’t happen to most of us. People are experiencing a lot of stress nowadays and because of that, they resort to activities that doesn’t reflect a healthy lifestyle. Alcohol, nicotine and excessive eating are all causes of an unhealthy body. These are usually the culprits of heart attack, high blood pressure, stroke and cancer. But these same elements also put the body in a state of another disorder which is snoring.

It doesn’t sound much, does it? Snoring can be something that most of us, if not all, have grown used to. There has to be somebody in the family who snores and since this relative has surpassed the years of his life doesn’t make snoring a life threatening disorder when in fact, it is. The danger that a person like this is high and since snoring seems like a snake, which works on its prey silently which, when it strikes, could be fatal or too late for the victim.

A popular partner of snoring is called Sleep Apnea, another disorder. It’s more dangerous to the victim because a person suffering from it tends to stop breathing at some point during sleeping. It is associated to snoring because of the loud noise produced by the victim while asleep. A person also has to check with a medical specialist when he tends to fall asleep or feel sleepy during the day. When he does, it’s a clear sign of sleep apnea. Since this type of disorder causes a person to stop from breathing for an alarming duration of up to a minute, it’s a wonder how the victims are able to breathe again.

What else does sleep apnea do? It creates double the discomfort to a bed partner. Not only because it is really noisy, but because it also deprives a person of a proper sleep. When a person suffers from this sickness, especially when sleepiness during the day can’t be fought, see your doctor right away. Deprived sleeping hours shouldn’t be left ignored because lack of sleep also causes stress and in turn, makes the body feel tired. Another reason not to take sleep apnea or snoring for granted.
